Last Will & Testament of
Thomas Edmund Quine of Douglas - 1930
THIS IS THE LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT of me THOMAS EDMUND QUINE of Arderry Cronkbourne Road in the Borough of Douglas (and formerly of Ballachrink Baldwin in the Parish of Braddan) retired farmer I revoke all prior wills and testamentary dispositions by me made and I hereby appoint my wife Eliza Ann Quine and my two sons Edmund Corlett Quine and Thomas Harold Quine to be trustees and executors hereof and I declare that the expression my Trustees when used in this my will shall include the said Eliza Ann Quine Edmund Corlett Quine and Thomas Harold Quine and the survivors and survivor of them and the heirs executors and administrators of such survivor or other the person or persons who for the time being shall be the Trustee or Trustees hereof I bequeath to each of my three daughters Amy Elizabeth Crowe Gertrude Crowe and Annie Isabel Quine a legacy of one thousand pounds I bequeath to my Trustees the whole of my household furniture linen plate china glass books pictures ornaments and all other my household effects Upon trust to suffer and permit my said wife to have the use and enjoyment thereof for and during the term of her natural life and upon her death in trust to transfer and assign the same to my daughter Annie Isabel Quine absolutely Subject to the dower of my said wife therein I give and devise my estate lands and premises known as Arderry in the parish of Onchan and the estates lands and premises known as Ballachrink Ballagarey The Place Creg-e-Cowin Penny Pot Intack The Dhoon Egypt and all other my real estate in the Parish of Braddan to my said two sons Edmund Corlett Quine and Thomas Harold Quine in equal shares absolutely as tenants in common All the rest residue and remainder of my my real and personal estate including my dwelling house Arderry Douglas I give devise and bequeath to my Trustees to hold the same in trust to pay over the annual rents issues profits and income to be derived therefrom to my wife for and during the term of her natural life and on her decease to sell and convert the same into money or so much thereof as shall not consist of money and to divide the proceeds thereof between such of my five children as shall be then living and the issue then living of such child of mine as shall then be dead in equal shares such issue to take equally between them only the share which his her or their deceased parent would if living have taken AND I declare that then benefits hereby conferred upon any female shall be for herown sole and separate use and so that the same shall be free from the control liability or engagements of her present or any future husband and so that her receipt aloneto my Trustees shall be a good and sufficient discharge therefor...
